Doing the Best You Can Do? Will that work?

I’m reading Seth Godin’s book, small is the new big and 183 other riffs, rants, and remarkable business ideas.  He made a statement that has inspired my thinking.  He said: “What really works is not having every little thing be up to the usual standards–what works is everything being good enough, and one or two elements of a product or service being amazing.”  What are the implications for you and your dental practice?  Most of we dentists would say this is a ridiculous statement and has no connection to dentistry.  I challenge that thinking…it has a lot to do with what we do in our offices.  What are you doing to make your practice REMARKABLE? You might want to visit Amazon and read the listings of “Remarkable”?  You might want to use a team meeting to determine what you can do “good enough” and then focus on your “amazingness”?  Is your practice really amazing or have you simply conjured the idea in your mind?
