A Practice Management Nugget

7 January 2007

All too often I hear from dental staff telling me that their doctor does not seem to pay any attention to them; they feel the doctors don’t recognize them for a job well done; they tell me their doctor fails to offer up a simple thank you for their efforts.  Well, there is good news.  One of my clients, Dr. James Stafford has committed to be different with his team.  At the end of the day and before everyone leaves the office he asks his staff the following question: “What one positive experience did you have today?”  This way he feels confident that he and his team members are going home to their families with a much more positive attitude.  Here is a link that will remind you of the value of compliments and creading a positive frame of mind.

What examples of staff acknowledgement can you offer up that you have or continue to use in your office to create an “attitude of gratitude”?
