Dr. Ron’s PUDGE WATCH

20 November 2007

This is PUDGE WATCH #4 and I continue to marvel at the attention this fat post is garnering.  Well, this week I have new photos for you to marvel at.  If you are new to PUDGE WATCH click on this link and read from the top.  If you are following along, scroll down to November 20th to see the difference in my body shape in just 4 1/2 months.  I have included some comments on how tough it was to get through a full turkey dinner and an entire weekend with entertaining clients.  There is something to be said about “routine” and staying the course.  C’mon now, give me your thoughts.  When you read this post click on the COMMENT button below my post and cheer me on, or tell me I still look ugly…just give some feedback.  Let’s make this a fun process for all of us.   Just think:  if we could get Americans to

  1. Stop smoking
  2. Stop drinking alcohol
  3. Stop being over weight

…we could eliminate over 87% of ALL disease in the United States—The National Institutes of Health

You’re doing great! It can be so challenging in the beginning and that’s when most people give up and say I just can’t do it. You should be so proud of yourself and now you are seeing the benefits. Isn’t it amazing the things you don’t crave and how you can actually listen to what your body is telling you. Our bodies are incredible self-healing machines if we only give ourselves a chance. Keep it up :)

Liz………I appreciate the encouragement. Today I had my stress test and the results from this year compared to last are amazing. Look for them in my next post.

    Hi, Ron
Please note the new e-mail address. Just looking over the latest Tidbits and checked the Pudge Watch. You certainly were fat and ugly and some of that has changed. You can diet and exercise but I don’t know about that ugly. Haven’t heard from you in ages. Too busy losing weight, I guess. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and Trish and a very Happy Birthday to you on Friday.
Please have many more in good health. Hoping you can get to Detroit in March for Brett’s wedding.
    Mike

    Hi, Ron!

Amazing what can be found on the Internet! Pam (Myers)and I caught up with a long chat yesterday, during which she mentioned this site. She works for a dentist in the DC area.
Naturally, I HAD to check it out. I LOVE the picture of the Ronnie I remember and the pictures of the Ron who is still charming and still has one of the best senses of humor I’ve ever encountered! I find it admirable that you are sharing your saga for the world to see and especially for those who need inspiration from a “real” experience.

I shared your site with my hubby who had a triple by-pass this spring…fortunately, no heart attack or damage. He has lost 39 pounds following many of the same guidelines you are. Slow weight loss; sensible portions and nutrition; more lean protein; fewer carbs; less scotch, less dairy; no cheese; no added salt or sugar; lots of water, to which he adds some pure cranberry juice; and daily excercise. He feels and looks much healthier and all counts are in the normal range for the first time in many years. He says to tell everyone, “If I can do it, ANYONE can!”

    Good luck and good health!

    Joan
