Happy Being Alive Today to Me

While this is the second Dental Coach Review being sent to you in as many days……I need to share something with my subscribers and clients.  It is cathartic for me to send this.  Since this is my blog, I decided to send this special message.

I’ve been so fortunate and so blessed that I almost forgot about TODAY…August 7, 2007.  It marks my 19th year of being alive.  You see, on this date in 1988, I was “gifted” by GOD with a heart attack.  Gift you say…you will see in a moment. 

Thanks to an amazing series of events; my wife and brother “zooming” me (41 years of age) to the hospital; the helicopter ride to the top of the Cleveland Clinic; being received by a “saint-like” blond and bearded male nurse who said: “Dr. Arndt, I’m not going to let you die”; followed by, a then new procedure, angioplasty……I am still alive.  I’m alive 19 years longer than expected.  What a gift!

I won’t bore you with the many, many, many wonderful things I have done; experienced; relished;  and seen that I am grateful for…….so, click here to see what I am truly grateful for in my last 19 years.  It  could have all been gone in a heartbeat and I would have missed out on all those special moments.  It’s great to be alive……the option is lousy.

My question to you………what are you grateful for today?  Have you said it out loud?  Have you declared your gratitude?

   Ron,
   I am so grateful you are alive too! I remember getting the call from Trish and being pregnant with Zach and thinking how could this be happening, you were too young and so were Trish and the girls. Plus who would my drinking buddy be???!!!

   Nancy……..no one knows that I “imbibe” and now the entire world is agast. I do believe that one of the best therapies for heart attack survival is 2 glasses a wine every night…..at least that’s what my cardiologist tells me. Hugs to you…….Coach Ron
