Whats Up With Dr. Ron

I’ve played “hooky”…..at least that’s what it feels like.  Today I spent 99% of the day with one of my daughters, Brianne, supporting her in exploring what she wants to do with her life.  My natural “work” instinct is that I should be at my desk from 7 am until 5 pm serving my clients…unquestionably!  I just know the “Work Police” have me pegged as a “slacker”.  Granted, I have taken care of all my clients with incredible concern and panache…..I still feel, however, like I should be at my desk.  Well……I got over it quickly thanks to my CORE VALUES!!!!  Now, let me explain……..Brianne and I have spent the past several months every Friday talking; debating; researching; arguing (just a little bit); and discussing what would make her heart sing.  What is it that would enable you (Bri) to get up each and every morning, like your Dad and thank GOD for the opportunity to serve others.  I must say, this has been a revealing experience not only for my “favorite youngest daugher”, but the Dad as well.  My financial planner tells me to take more time off and “smell the roses” and “”relax and take it easy.”  However, aside from the smell of the damn roses and my personal struggle to behave lazily, I came to clearly declare that I would have forsaken a $10,000 fee today to be able to see; feel; interact; support; question; and appreciate what my kid was going through to help her make a HUGE life-changing decision.  Don’t misunderstand, I am nowhere near being a “helicopter parent” (Bri will strongly attest to that as she thinks Dad is a task-master), yet I am about being a part of the long-term success of my children.  Today, she made application to the nation’s most prestigious Governess School and  she will learn of her acceptance within a week.  While the outcome is yet to be determined, I have gained a great deal of respect for my daughter because she is willing to “risk” and think outside/inside/subside/and underside the BOX.  The outcome is not assured, yet when you look at this kid, why would they not want her in this unique program?  You tell me……………Coach Ron & Dad
