Clients Extraordinaire

Dr. Tom Hughes…..he’s “da man” and the proud owner of a Black Belt in Tae Kwon-Do.  Last week I announced his accomplishment without having the “real” photos of this man REALLY breaking boards and shattering blocks of concrete along with a tough schedule of physical and mental challenges and tests.   Yes, I know some of you think: “a dentist smashing concrete, is he nuts?”  His wife Samantha asked the same question.  However, Dr. Tom’s story is one made just for coaching.  Earning his Black Belt is much more than breaking “things”.  It’s about commitment; discipline; values & vision; it’s about clarifing what he can “become”.  Through this process he has developed and honed his “focus”; his attention to detail;  his appreciation for those who have added value to his personal growth…..all traits resident in a leader.  Dr. Tom had goals to do 200 push-ups in 10 minutes; 200 sit-ups in 10 minutes and run 3 miles in 26.5 minutes.  Guess what he accomplished?  Don’t think too long.  He did it!  During his coaching we established a very clear and demanding Black Belt Timeline where he was accountable to his coach to keep me appraised of his progress.  Guess what he accomplished?  Don’t think too long.  He satisfied all his success areas.  Accountabilty; taking action; planning; a vision based on values.  All of these are the things that Dr. Tom represents.  I’m proud of this mans achievements that far exceed a Black Belt.  He has honed his skills through this process to be a better Dad; Husband; Dentist; Human being; and Friend.  If you click on Dr. Tom Hughes, you can view the “awsome” power of his focus.  Send him a personal congratulation by emailing him at: avondentalcare@yahoo.com or visit his website at: http://www.avondentalcare.com.  Don’t let his good looks fool you…he’s a “tough-guy”…………..and a wonderful man.
